Character Name: Ethlyn
Character Canon: Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
Canon Point: After her death in Chapter 5.
Age: 20

Crime: "The crimes of the Grannvale Empire."

Background: Ethlyn at the Fire Emblem wiki.

Personality: Ethlyn seems like everything that a noblewoman of Jugdral ought to be: kind, courteous and motherly, the perfect sort of wife for a crown prince who will inherit a kingship. And she is all of those things. What this seemingly-sensible exterior conceals, however, are the hallmarks of of the Chalphy family. The descendents of Baldr possess a strong streak of reckless obstinance, and Ethlyn is no exception. When she makes a decision, she stands by it and plays it to the hilt, even when the better thing would be to back down. She can easily cross the line from courage to rashness. Worse, she may not even realize that she's doing it if it's motivated by a desire to help someone who has done something more reckless than what she's doing now.

The reason Ethlyn can come off as more mature than her years is her mother's early death, which put her immediately into the position of Lady of Chalphy. Having spent the last years of her youth maintaining the good order of a ducal household when the duke and his heir let themselves grow slovenly in their bereavement, Ethlyn has a somewhat overdeveloped sense of responsibility. She'll mother people shamelessly, even if they're years older, and she'll readily give them a piece of her mind if she thinks it necessary. She has no compunctions about making other people's welfare her own business.

Ethlyn hasn't lost the instincts of the younger sister, playful and teasing and pushing things right up to the boundary. But equally apparent is that Ethlyn is a deeply empathetic individual. She is devoted to her loved ones--her brother, her father, her husband, and her children. She's quick to accept her brother's sudden new wife as her own sister and grieves deeply when she goes missing. She stalls on handing the Gáe Bolg lance to her husband, fearful that its tragic legend will catch up to them. Her tender heart leads her to bring her toddler on a military journey, and it leads her further into accompanying her husband for just a little too long into danger. As moral, compassionate, and determined as she is, these traits ended up combining into fatal flaws.

Abilities:
- Staff magic: Ethlyn is skilled in the use of magical staves. Mostly these are imbued with healing magic, but she's also been known to use a teleportation staff as well.

- Swordplay: Although her main role in battle is that of a healer, Ethlyn is a skilled swordswoman as well. Moreover, her strong magical abilities make her particularly effective when using magical swords.

- Holy blood: Ethlyn is a descendent of the Crusader Baldr, a man blessed with the divine power to excel at swordsmanship. Although she is not a major scion (that would be her brother Sigurd), his blessing still gives her the ability to wield almost any sword expertly and makes her slightly stronger than she would be by physical training alone.

Inventory:
- Sword: Although Ethlyn fought with a sword imbued with light magic for most of Sigurd's campaign, she wasn't wielding it at the time of her death. Instead, she's carrying a plain metal sword.

- Healing staff: A staff imbued with healing magic.

- Money: A purse of coin with a suitable amount for a journey of several days by horse.
