Character Name: Kazutora Hanemiya
Character Canon: Tokyo Revengers (Nightfell CRAU)
Canon Point: This is taken from the Nightfell CRAU, where he came from a few months after being jailed for his second murder.
Age: 15, born Sept 16, 1990

Crime: Kazutora is currently in jail in his original canonpoint, for murder. His second murder. He went to jail the first time for the murder of his friend Mikey’s brother, Shinichiro, at the age 12, and he spent three years there in juvie. The entire time, he became obsessed with the idea that Mikey was actually at fault for Shinichiro’s death, and by the time he came out, his sole goal was to kill Mikey. In an attempt to do that, however, he instead stabbed and killed his best friend, Baji, and now is spending a sentence of ten years for that crime. He feels incredibly guilty for both of those murders and would do anything to turn back time.

Background: 1 , 2

For the Nightfell CRAU, Kazutora spent less than a month there building friendships, seeking jobs, and looking for a place to live. His most notable CR was with Mikey. He found him as an adult, 12 years into the future of what he knew, downtrodden and depressed beyond recognition. Kazutora wanted to help him, which is in stark contrast to the view he’d always had of wanting to murder Mikey, not only because he was now in therapy and learning to be a better person, but also because he always knew of Mikey as having strength beyond strength. He couldn’t stand that he just wanted to die..
The decision to want to help Mikey, to be a beacon of light for him when for so many years he was a well of darkness, was a massive development for Kazutora. He’s choosing now to listen to people, to repent for what he’s done, and to be someone others can lean on. But not too below the surface he is still rife with his own demons, and it doesn’t take much to scratch them out.
In addition to that, Kazutora had just gotten in contact with Baji, his best friend and the boy he stabbed and killed in a fit of rage over a perceived betrayal. He is desperate to help fix his relationship with Baji and to make up for the many horrible things he’d done to him or gotten him involved in.

Personality: Kazutora is a mentally unstable but kind boy who looks out for others, holds loyalty above all else, and will murder without much of a second thought if his friends were in danger.
He grew up in a broken home; his father was terribly abusive to both him and his mother, merely because he wanted to teach them discipline and to not be disappointments, despite the fact that hey would never do anything to trigger him. His mother eventually divorces the father, but she makes Kazutora promise to chose her side before doing so, further manipulating him. Once the family was broken, he barely had contact with his mother, who was always busy working and rarely at home; when she was home, she wouldn’t even pay attention to him.
On top of that, Kazutora was used by his group of friends as a money bag, the friend who would pay for things even though nobody wanted him around for anything else. One fateful night, he met and got into a fight with Baji, a rough around the edges, pure hearted boy who would show him how to defend himself and what real friendship meant.
Because of these experiences, Kazutora is overall a kind but guarded individual. He doesn’t do well with groups, even having trouble at times with his own gang, which was founded to protect him from another gang. But he does do well with individuals. He is naturally violent and tends to react in violence without thinking. With that said, however, he wants very much to help people in need, especially those he can relate to who were or are still in such a horrible mental space as he used to be.
He is easily triggered by disloyalty, by seeing familial bonds, and by disappointing someone he cares for. At this point in his canon he is working very hard to overcome his traumas, real and misconceived, taking into consideration the things his therapist has told him. But he’ll go so far as to murder someone he thinks has betrayed him, even if that person is the most beloved person in his life.
Kazutora doesn’t like families or the concept of families, particularly happy ones, and gets irrationally unhappy when that subject is at hand. He was abused by his family and is disgusted by the sight of any family that seems happy and content.
Before going back to jail and starting therapy, Kazutora had the philosophy that he was a hero so long as he killed his enemies. He used this as a motto for his life and to suit his delusions that he hadn’t killed Shinichiro, Mikey had. He needed this delusion to persist in order to survive. While at this point in his canon he no longer has those delusions, he may still find that philosophy suitable in his life.
Kazutora doesn’t like to rely on anyone, choosing instead to fight his own battles and to protect himself. But secretly he yearns for someone to come and save him, to be the hero for him that he thought he had to be for himself. After Mikey and Baji save him from the Black Dragons, he learns to rely a little more on others, but he still struggles with the concept.

Abilities:
GO FIGHT KILL
Kazutora is a normal human, with no special powers or abilities. He is, however, an objectively capable fighter, which is enhanced by the fact that at twelve years old he suffered a mental break after murdering the brother of the friend he most admired, by accident, to protect the identity of another friend. Unable to handle the burden of that reality, he mentally shifted the blame for it onto the friend he admired; Mikey; and decided the only way to resolve the rotten feelings inside of him was to snuff Mikey out with death, too. All of this to say, Kazutora, while a normal, average teen with above-average fighting skill, has no inhibitors — this functions as a skill all on its own. At age twelve, when he thinks his friend Baji is in danger, he picks up a metal pipe and hits a much older man over the back of the head in a moment of unbridled violence. This unbridled violence “mode” his sick mind sometimes snaps him into leads to Kazutora using weapons effectively and brutally. Almost anything can be a makeshift weapon for him in this state. He snaps into this state when he decides someone is an “enemy”, going to far as to join a rival gang for a chance to kill Mikey with a pipe, and mistaking Baji for a traitor and stabbing him in the back with a long knife. After these hellacious moments often come “clarity” moments where he regrets or can’t cope with what he’s done. In other words: Kazutora is just an athletic, violent teenager, used to fighting and fairly good at it. But when he gets “furious” or decides to kill or feels abandoned, he’ll lose all inhibitors, becoming a brutal fighter who uses weapons effectively, aiming for kill shots. Admittedly, he also goes down fairly easy, so he’s only really effective in sneaky, unkind attacks where the victim isn’t suspecting it. He’d fall to most powerful characters in game, and his lack of inhibition makes him reckless and easy to overpower.

SUVIVOR
Kazutora can take a lot of punishment. Part of this is his lack of inhibition when he feels he deserves punishment or can’t fight his way out of his mental disturbia; part of this is because he spent the last three years with the most brutal of brutal in Tokyo, living in a murderer’s wing of a juvenile prison and learning to survive there by any means necessary, bent on his revenge. He also grew up in a household rife with physical and emotional abuse, watching his father beat his mother, and being emotionally manipulated by his mother into picking sides. This trauma led to his ability to “cope” by taking punishment and meting it out. It’s important to note that in future canon, of which this canon point is just the beginning of, Kazutora dedicates himself to repenting through therapy and actually gives up violence and learns to cope with his demons. He may (I hope) eventually work to this in-game as well, at which point he will probably lose (slowly) all of the above skills and be akin to just a normal person with a heinous and PTSD-studded background. In addition, Kazutora is great at stealth and breaking in, using his skills to infiltrate without detection. He can also ride a motorcycle and has basic knowledge of bike maintenance.
Inventory: Kazutora would be wearing prison scrubs but would otherwise have nothing else on him. He has a medium cut black hair with blond streaks, a beauty mark under his left eye, and a black and white, ink-style tattoo of a tiger on his right neck down past his shoulders. He would come with one earring – a gold ball on a chain that rattles when he moves.
