You could theoretically have a smaller chocobo (perhaps not rideable yet), but Noel could raise them and they could grow into a bigger chocobo over time for riding purpose. However, if you would like the chocobo to be immediately rideable, that is also quite doable. We'll consider it a small item regain regardless.
