Chosen begin their journey here, in the city of Aldrip. Locals here whisper sometimes about “Those Who Were There,” their mysterious deities, but generally they allow the Chosen to live among them without much trouble.Further information about Aldrip can be found on this page.
A city that has seen its share of ups and downs. The snakelike people of Rumpitur are a proud lot, scientifically-minded (as far as farming and ocean knowledge goes), but fell on hard times when a corrupted sea creature took their city hostage in November 2023. The Chosen helped them deal with this problem, but not without cost to themselves. Now, the city of Rumpitur appears to be rebuilding both its infrastructure and its relationship with its neighboring cities.
Off the coast of Rumpitur is a set of ruins that are both massive and…strangely generic. Traveling to the isles, one will find bones and personal items left behind from victims of the corrupted sea creature.
Little is known about Ketsora besides the fact that it is surrounded by walls, and its human citizens very unfriendly. Beyond that, the city seems to be self-sustaining, willing to rely on exactly no one else on the continent. Within its walls, the city seems to house large amounts of farmland, as well as industrial prowess. In February 2024, after an unfortunate incident with one of the Chosen, a Ketsoran delegation traveled to Aldrip. In their wake, they released a bomb that targeted all electronics in Aldrip, leaving the city in darkness for weeks.
Located at the base of the mountains north of Aldrip, Lorentia Cave is one of the closest accessible locations to the city, and is frequented by Chosen and locals alike. What looks from the outside like a small and innocuous cave is actually a system of underground tunnels and caverns. Inside, one can find rocks, remnants of old tools, occasionally bones and even monsters. There are some areas of this enormous system of caves that are currently inaccessible. Traversing too far will begin to make someone feel twitchy, at first, and then paranoid. Their fear will increase until they are forced to leave the area. How strange…
Pessiria Forest is a thick veil of evergreen trees, home to a variety of four-legged and winged wildlife. It serves as the barrier between the meadowlands near Aldrip and the bustling city of Rumpitur. Some say that you hear strange sounds within the forest. Some even say that spending too long within its trees will drive a person to madness. But thus far, travel through the forest has proven safe and effective. As of October 2023, a few interesting discoveries have been made within Pessiria Forest. An underground grotto can be found by following a stream within the woods, which leads to a cave opening. The floor of the cave is wet and a little slippery, and within the cave, there are remnants of ancient cave paintings, worn with age until they're little more than lines on the stone. The ocean tides seem to affect this cave quite a bit: at high tide, the cave fills entirely with water, but at low tide, it's completely dry. Also in the woods is an old abandoned bunker with two levels connected by stairs. This bunker clearly was once used for scientific and mechanical work, but has been empty seemingly for ages, coated in a fine layer of dust. Remnants of several mechanical and medical experiments can be found here, though basically everything inside is too worn-down to use.
Far south of Aldrip, Expiation’s terrain begins to take a dangerous turn. The sun beats down and plays tricks on the eyes, making this desert seem far less sinister than it actually is. At this time, great sandstorms make the desert impassible.
While it’s currently little more than ruins scattered in the sand, Tresed was once a great city, magnificent in size and grandeur. Little remains of that today–not that many are able to make it through the desert to see it anyway.
