APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED
Player Cap: 29/70

RESERVES | APPS

Before you submit your application, please review the Applications and Reserves section of the info / faq page, as there are additional rules regarding malleable protagonists, CRAU characters, fandom OCs, canon caps, player caps, and other important things to note.

Applications will be processed in the order they are received and after the application cycle closes. We will only accept as many players as we have player slots, however, we will review all applications submitted during the cycle. Application cycles are not first come first serve, and instead will be judged on clarity of the app and samples.

Application revisions will have three days to submit adjustments. If not submitted in time, they will have to wait until the next application cycle to resubmit.

Application rejections will have to wait until the next application cycle to resubmit unless otherwise specified in the original rejection.

You may either post your application in a comment to this post, or link to it from your character journal.

Please use the following format for your comment in the subject line:
CHARACTER | CANON | RESERVED / NOT RESERVED

There is a limit of 2 characters initially maximum that can be played. (You can redeem additional character slots by way of the rewards page.) As with reservations, you may apply for 2 characters at a time.

Proxy applications are not accepted.

We do not accept application challenges.

We do not accept duplicate characters.

We only accept applications for 1 malleable protagonist in a cast. Malleable protagonists may not have preexisting relationships with other characters from their canon aside from base storyline. (Exceptions will potentially be made for CRAUs and handled on a case-by-case basis.)

Fandom OC characters are accepted, but may not have preexisting relationships with other characters from their canon. (Exceptions will potentially be made for CRAUs and handled on a case-by-case basis.)

CRAU characters are accepted, however, must not be so removed from their original canon state that they are unrecognisable. CRAU characters who carry a multitude of prior games may only carry over memories, relationships, and experiences from their most recent game.

Crime: All characters are accused of a crime upon their arrival, and it's printed on their indestructible parchment. This crime can be fitting of your character or ill-fitting. It can be a crime they've committed or a crime they would never commit. Consider that Expiation's definition of crimes may not mirror reflect what we think of when we consider crime in the real world. Feel free to think a little out of the box and more abstract. Fiction versus reality here doesn't so much make a difference. Please choose one crime, bearing in mind that there may be occasions in which the crime chosen could affect how a character interacts with certain events or situations.

Background: You may provide a link to a wiki, for canon characters. If your wiki has limited information, or your character may not have much canon behind them, you are expected to write supplemental details without leaning too heavily into headcanon. For OCs, you don't need to provide an overly verbose background, just enough to give an accurate portrayal of the world they come from and definitive experiences that are important to their character. For CRAUS, please specify additional information about what they are carrying over from their prior game. This can also be limited to definitive experiences and relationships.

Personality: Although this game heavily relies on the analysis and reflection of a character, we don't expect a dissertation. Please provide information on your character's motivations, how their relationships and experiences have affected or shaped them, and other related information. You may use character dialogue to further showcase this, but it's not expected. If you find it easier to use bullet point formats, feel free to do that. Please do not exceed 800 words.

Abilities: If your character has any special abilities (magic, weapon skills, and so on), please list them here. Remember that world-breaking abilities will be diluted.

Inventory: A list of inventory that your character is carrying on them can be put here. Characters will not have access to an infinite hammer space, so please only list things that would make sense for your character to be physically carrying.

Samples: Two recent samples from the last year are required and must adequately convey a character's voice. In a thread, we prefer at least five comments from you. At least one sample must be from the current TDM post. Other threads may be taken from bakerstreet, other games, or other memes.

During application review, not only will we be judging for characterization, but also longevity and completion of threads. Not all threads have to be finished before being submitted, but the mod team would like to see an effort in furthering the thread if it's not completed.

Questions: If you have any questions for the mod team, please include them here and we will address them during the processing of your application.

So right off the bat, Naoto is serious and analytical. This means she tends to just bluntly state her thoughts on things in a way that comes across as cold. Her thought process starts with the facts, leaving the emotion part as an afterthought. This makes a lot of her relationships strained because she unintentionally sounds like a condescending dick. Something that Naoto gets defensive about when pointed out, which makes the situation worse.

As of her current canon point she is attempting to get better at dealing with social situations. With limited results. She tries, but she can't really keep up with the bants.

Part of this is due to her upbringing. She was raised by her grandfather and his servants, so she's picked up some old man speak quirks™. Namely, using old-fashioned wording and not always understanding slang.... Except in mobile texts. She types in as few characters as possible on her 2011 flip phone, not even pressing the button to turn off caps lock.

Naoto tries really hard to keep this seriousness up to hide that she's really insecure. She wants people to want her around, to speak to and acknowledge her. Surely, if she's mature and smart they'll want her help right? But then she can't emote because that'd be immature.

She also can't show an interest in her main hobbies. Making small gadgets and Featherman(tokusatsu shows), those don't match the image she's trying to give off... As of the end of the game, she's still trying to find a balance between being professional and being open to people.

Age: I’m on the wrong side of 40
Current Characters: None

Character Name: Elizabeth: The Blue of Jubilant Justice! Velvet Blue!
Character Canon: Persona 4 Ultimax (Has been through P3FES and P3P, yes I know they’re from different timelines, but time is weird in the Velvet Room, as well as the Q and Q2, once again time shenanigans)
Canon Point: After the end of the game
Age: Time is an Illusion, Lunchtime doubly so. She looks to be in her late teens to early 20’s, but time doesn’t exactly flow in the velvet room. Even if she left several years ago.

Crime: Dereliction of duty. She left the velvet room and her position without permission to persue her goal of saving the boy in the Great Seal

Background: https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/Elizabeth

Personality: Elizabeth is playful, bubbly, cheerful, impulsive, and highly murderous. She has also seen some shit. Time doesn’t exactly go the same in the velvet room, the hero seems to space out when interacting with it, but it is implied that they see all the various timelines in the room, including the ones where the protag has failed. So just given what I’ve seen that for every success there are dozens of fatalities. Still her job was to support her protagonist, and she did, cheerfully. The thing is, when it ended badly, and then, his wild card moved to another trial that only SORT of solved the issue, she decided she had to take things into her own hands.
She means well, just having grown up in the Velvet Room setting, she doesn’t quite get things in the way a normal human would. She likes problems to be wrapped up quickly and doesn’t care if it is messy. If murder is an option, generally, it will be considered. She just doesn’t want to do things that would have upset her guests, whom she still cares deeply for, and as such she spends more time observing and trying to understand as opposed to just dealing with the issue at hand. That being said, she does tend to lead with strength, which is why she bullies her brother and is a bit afraid of her older sister whom she can not beat in a fight. Also why she refuses to challenge Igor and leaves in the night so to speak, as she simply can not compete with the power of his nose.
Elizabeth is very curious, especially after her own wild card awakening. She was incredibly interested in seeing if a wild card with bonds, or one without was more effective. In the end she decided the one with bonds was more effective. It also caused her to want to see what was going on with many persona users coming to one place, and ultimately to gate crash the General Kuma issue. It was a new thing to experience, and while most of her impulses tend towards combat (either her own or others) it peaked her curiosity. She also gave many quests to collect things to sate her curiosity, be it simple documents, or to see how a persona was created. Also, she went out on many “dates” with her guest, to see their world and understand the universe through their eyes.
She is also stubborn. She saw multiple ordeals, she witnessed what was involved, and decided that she had to tie up the loose ends to protect what was important to her, not to just leave it in the hands of some other fool. She gave up her beloved family, and the safety of existing in the Velvet Room to go into the conscious world and duke it out with a Titan because it wouldn’t stay dealt with. Because she wanted it gone she endured till she realized how to draw upon her own wild card, and while the story panned away from her then, she didn’t return home, but moved forward to test out how to best use it.
Abilities: Persona use – Currently she only has Thanatos, but being a wild card, she has the ability to use others.
Persona summoning – In Persona Q it is shown that she can forge persona by combining others, though she finds doing so tedious
Medical training – In Persona Q as well as in Arena, she is shown as having healing abilities
Identification through smell – She has an excellent sense of smell and can identify the ingredients of food with it
Can eat more than a 6 ton trash compactor – She has the ability to pretty much eat all she wants. In one date she took the protagonist to every restaurant in one area and didn’t seem to be slowing down, even when they had to after their 7th or so meal.
Kinetic powers that can form a chair to sit on out of thin air. Really, all it does is give her some place to sit, it can’t get in people’s way or anything, it just is the ability to sit floating in the air.

Inventory: Persona Compendium – This has a list of all of her guest’s persona
Tarot Deck – This is a simple Velvet Room issue Tarot deck
Velvet Room Uniform – She’s been wearing it since she left, but it is still with her
Persona Thanatos - https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/Thanatos#Reload Note: Instakills are going to be only aimed at gribblies, not bosses and PCs as that is frankly kinda broke

Character Name: Aigis
Character Canon: Persona 3
Canon Point: Post-game, before the events of The Answer
Age: Chronologically 10 years old, she appears to be in her late teens and her mental state reflects this.

Crime: Failed to protect the person closest to her.

Background: A link, as they say.

Personality: Initially Aigis's personality is incredible simple. Every aspect of her is robotic, from her speech to the way she carries herself. She doesn't question this, as it's the way she's always been. It's also the way she's supposed to be, you wouldn't ask a toaster why it's not worried about relationships or having fun. Aigis is built for the purpose of destroying shadows and she dedicates herself to that fully. Despite that, Aigis does have a subconscious and finds herself acting on it on multiple occasions, even though she's not aware of it. It's the memories of a past robot, and even further back, the memories of the girl who supplied that robot's personality, that causes Aigis to go to pier on Yakushima. It's here that she meets the protagonist, and that meeting drastically changes Aigis.

Aigis senses something in them, and immediately declares that being with them is her top priority. Unbeknownst to Aigis, she feels this way because ten years ago, she sealed a portion of the shadow Nyx within the protagonist. However, it's not mere programming that attaches her to the protagonist, but a forgotten sense of guilt. On the surface, she appears in love with and obsessed with the protagonist, wanting to touch them and always be close to them, even while they're sleeping. Through her experiences with the protagonist and SEES, she begins to become more human, and care for them all outside of her duties.

Over the course of the game, Aigis regains her memories and struggles with the fact she was the one who forced the protagonist into their role, by literally sealing the embodiment of Death within a child's psyche. Resigning herself to a life as a weapon, she attempts to defeat Nyx herself, only to lose and become badly injured. From this point on, Aigis begins to truly question her identity as a weapon or as a human being. As a weapon, she had failed in the sole reason for her existence. But even so, she found she wanted to live nonetheless, continuing alongside her friends even when things seemed hopeless. Protecting others becomes her new reason to live, a reframed version of her original purpose.

WOO STORY SUMMARY OVER, but really her character development follows a very straight path in accordance with the plot of the game so it's unavoidable. Aigis's personality is seen in snippets early on; she is impressionable, naive, and extremely literal, all in line with her being a robot who's had little exposure to humans. She doesn't understand social cues or norms, even when they're explained to her, often taking the explanations too literally and coming to an even more non-sensical conclusion. She's prone to copying those around her, mostly by repeating their speech mannerisms or literally repeating them right after they've spoken. In this way, she at some times acts like a child, the kind of person who would absolutely see a character do a thing in a book and then attempt to do it herself. Aigis is extremely kind and worried about those around her, and she'll go out of her way to help others even if  this means chasing down a dying cat.

As she develops, she becomes much more self conscious and frets over the fact she is not a real human. This becomes worse as she falls in love with the protagonist and realizes that her love extends beyond her selfless need to protect them. She's in fact become very selfish and jealous, wanting them to love her the same as a human, while believing she doesn't deserve it. When romanced by the female protagonist, she states that she knows the protagonist should be with a human man, and despite that, she wants to be with her more than anything else. This can be further seen in the Answer, when Aigis's human side splits into another robot. This other self is childish and needy, never wanting to be left alone, showing the feelings Aigis tries to hide.

At her canonpoint, Aigis is attempting to ignore her grief from losing the protagonist and accept her life as a weapon, even planning to quit high school and return to the lab. This is also a childish reaction, showing how Aigis can be very all-or-nothing. Either she gets her happily ever after with her love, or she might as well not be human. Add in the fact they died in her arms and she failed to protect them and well... extremely sad robot!

Abilities: Aigis is a weapon designed to destroy shadows, her entire body is made for combat. Being made of steel, it's difficult to damage her or kill her by normal means, as she is able to be repaired and rebuilt. Her body is loaded with firearms, most notably bullets that shoot out of her fingertips. While she's also occasionally shown with cannons and other weapons, I don't plan on using those in Expiation since they come out of nowhere and are mostly flashy for special attacks, rather than any narrative purpose.

As an anti-shadow weapon, Aigis is able to summon a Persona, one of the few ways of combatting shadows. Unlike other characters in Persona 3, she doesn't need to use an Evoker as the function is built into her body. At her canonpoint, she has awakened to her Ultimate Persona, Pallas Athena

Aigis is also capable of entering Orgia Mode, which buffs her stats for a short amount of time, though Aigis is unable to hear commands as she's acting on a sort of auto-mode. After using Orgia Mode, her body overheats and she is unable to move until recovering.

Random robot abilities: she can speak with animals and doesn't need to eat or drink.

Inventory:
  • Gekkoukan winter uniform
  • A ribbon given to her by the scientist Yuu Kimijima
  • A few rounds of ammo, stored in her body

Samples: Link... two! As they say. And three.

Character Name: Rafal
Character Canon: Fire Emblem Engage
Canon Point: Just before the final battle with Sombron
Age: Thousands of years old, physically in his early 20s

Crime: Wiping out all the denizens of a world, rendering it effectively “dead”

Background: Wiki

Personality:
Pride: Rafal has a strong amount of pride in being a dragon and being himself. Due to his upbringing where he had to pretend to be “Nil”, constantly acting weak and soft. Once he revealed himself, Rafal swung strongly towards holding onto his true self. To him, that means he is blunt and abrasive and truthful, though rarely malicious and cruel. Sometimes he fails to grasp the feelings of others, but his proud and harsh comes from a place of insecurity after many centuries pretending to be someone else.

And in many ways, it is a mask. Rafal feels an intense grief and pain over his actions. Because of this, he doesn’t consider himself to possess much worth, calling himself irredeemable and shying away from anyone who may even consider saying otherwise. He doesn’t think much of his life and his future, as long as he lays it down in the service of life and the person who gave him a second chance, the Divine Dragon.

Repetent: Due to his crimes of murder and destruction upon his world, Rafal is very determined to be penitent and helpful. He is willing to perform any boon and deed that will help others and he is not interested in forgiveness or thanks as long as his deeds can be accepted. Sometimes he is a little too forward about the horrible actions he has taken, hoping that he will cut off any desire for people to feel sympathy towards him. Rafal will never dodge his accountability, but he sometimes leans too far, punishing himself from feeling he could be allowed any leeway.

Humour: Despite his circumstances, Rafal does possess a wicked sense of humour. He enjoys practical jokes (nothing hurtful or painful) and enjoys watching the reactions of people around him. He will sometimes play up his bloodthirstiness and brutality, even though he rarely behaves that way anymore or give people trick sweets and candies in order to watch them flounder while he laughs. With a love for horror stories and dark jokes, Rafal often plays up being the terrible dragon.

Honest: Rafal never disguises or hides his intentions as if to make up for his past manipulations and actions. That often translates to a bluntness that is not particularly friendly or welcoming, but he never shies away from anything. His opinion is not something he holds back on. Any topic, no matter how difficult, he’s willing to discuss. And while he still struggles with being forthright emotionally, pushing it away, Rafal will take the pains to confront himself and his own issues and come forward with them. He’s never bitter about apologies and never careless with other people’s secrets.

Abilities:
The Corrupted: One of Rafal’s abilities is resurrecting the dead. He can bring back anyone and they survive through his will. Sometimes they do not even realize they’re dead, sometimes they are his willing servants.

Transformation: With his dragonstone, Rafal can turn into a dragon and emit a blast of power. He can also fly.

Basic magic: Rafal can do basic magic like tracking spells and locating lost object spells.

Fighter: Rafal is trained in the ways of combat as a capable and lethal fighter.

Age: 32
Current Characters: Rolo Lamperouge

Character Name: Saralegui
Character Canon: Kyou Kara Maou!
Canon Point: End of season 3 episode 36
Age: 17

Crime: Perfidy

Background: The wiki is extremely barebones but I have a whole background writeup over here.

Personality: By all outward appearances, Saralegui is just the young and charismatic king of the country of Small Shimaron. He's fair in his rule, intelligent and responsible despite his age, and well-liked by his people. He's kind and charming and strives for peace – the sort of king that really cares about his people, rather than simply enjoying the luxury that such power brings.

In reality, however, Saralegui is a manipulative schemer. He plays nice with others not out of genuine kindheartedness, but because keeping up a good reputation helps him most in the cutthroat politics of his world. Saralegui doesn't shy away from using others to accomplish his goals and he's both intelligent enough and powerful enough to get away with it – "powerful" in this case referring less to his rank and more to the hypnotic magic he can work with his eyes. He doesn't even need that much of the time though, more interested in the challenge of doing things the old-fashioned way. When asked why he goes to extremes like orchestrating his own near-death to manipulate the protagonist when he could simply use his powers for the same purpose, Saralegui simply answers that it's more fun going without it. He's extremely intelligent, plotting moves out far in advance and predicting the moves on others accurately in order to make all his plotting work, and with his hypnotic abilities to fall back on, he's willing to make extremely risky gambles that always seem to work out for him in the end. It seems like having his powers to fall back on just makes him bold and almost reckless, always confident that he can just sidestep any real danger with his mind-control if things don't go his way.

It isn't a lie that he cares for his country, but even that has a selfish root – he grew up almost entirely ignored by his father and it created a craving for acknowledgement and attention in him, a spiteful need to be a greater king than his father was. Between that apparent indifference from his father and his mother having been entirely absent from his life, he has something of an abandonment complex. And going from feeling so completely unwanted to having people vying for his favor as a king has left him deeply jaded – people always have ulterior motives, as far as he's concerned, and the concept of love is a pretty lie. How could he believe in something like that, after all, when his own parents, the people who should have loved him unconditionally and before all others, wanted nothing to do with him?

On a casual level, he ranges from sincerely affable to incredibly two-faced. He's very focused on appearances and often lies or sticks to polite surface interactions to maintain that persona of a sweet and pleasant young ruler, but it's not as if everything he does always has such ulterior motives. He's very much capable of being friendly and getting along with others, and when there are no high stakes involved he can actually be pretty great for intelligent conversation or flirting or joking around. As long as things remain on a lighthearted surface level, he can be fairly genuine and likable without issue – it's getting deeper than that where things can get messy.

The only person he trusts absolutely is his bodyguard, Belias, and that's a trust built up over more than a decade of loyal servitude, and Belias entered his life early enough that Saralegui was still young and desperate enough to cling to whatever attention he was given. He takes that trust to an extreme, even putting his life in his bodyguard's skilled hands (and not just in the sense of protection, but even intentionally shooting him with a goddamn arrow). For everyone else, however, he's skeptical of others as a rule and prone to suspecting people of having ulterior motives than simply accepting the kindness of a stranger.

Despite everything he's done, Saralegui isn't exactly a villain. He does bad things, sometimes cruel things, but his intentions are at least somewhat decent. He has a very "ends justify the means" attitude, which is why he could so easily trick his only friend, the pacifistic Yuuri, into destroying entire armies for him on two separate occasions – it might hurt Yuuri, yes, but it gets rid of the threat of Large Shimaron's forces without having to send a single soldier into battle, and if it manages to kill off Large Shimaron's king in the process, then that just means he can claim the throne himself and definitely end all the fighting between humans and demons.

Abilities:
- He has a power that allows him to more or less hypnotize other people. It seems to require eye contact (at least initially) and as he always removes his glasses before using it, most likely can't penetrate even transparent surfaces. The commands given don't have to be verbal, and resistance to them is based on willpower, but it should be noted that the ability is very powerful, with only the Demon King ever being shown actually breaking free from it. He doesn't seem to like abusing this power, however, as it's only ever brought out in situations he can't somehow manipulate through other means.
- According to the novels, he can see in the dark.

Inventory:
- The Divine Sword of Seisakoku, a powerful magic sword that can apparently only be used at all by half-humans (but only Saralegui has been able to truly control it and make full use of its power). It normally provides life-energy to a whole country and that same power can use used for things like healing, pouring magic energy into a person, and rapid growth of plantlife for miles around, as well as creating a magic barrier and teleporting across a city for some reason. The sword's abilities are pretty vague and wide in scope and we only see it do most of these things like once, but fortunately Saralegui is not very inclined to making frequent use of such powers 🙃

Character Name: Argenti
Character Canon: Honkai Star Rail
Canon Point: Following the conclusion of "Night of Universal Hallucinations"
Age: There's no canon age but people ball park it from 23-36. I'm personally a late 20s to 30s Argenti truther.

Crime: Vagrancy

Background: Wiki link for the run-of-the-mill character stories.
Click here for the events of his companion mission in point form.
🌹 Before the story begins Argenti has a fateful encounter with Velite—an IPC worker who he finds in trouble in a huge cave. After making Velite swear to follow Idrila he rescues him and diverts the course of his own space ship to take him home.
🌹 This doesn't go as planned as he rear-ends the Astral Express by accident. Both vessels have actually been swallowed by a giant space bug (known as part of "The Swarm"). Argenti boards the express to temporarily join the crew in figuring out what happened.
🌹 After introducing himself to the MC and March 7th they engage in honorable combat as one does. This is proper etiquette for the Knights of Beauty allegedly. He says please if I win you gotta accept my God, alright? This gets interrupted halfway by Welt however because the situation outside of the vessel is developing.
🌹 Argenti is here to help after all. It was always his main reason for being here. He was just enjoying the present moment. In his own words he's there to "discover an inharmonious pitch" which he is then going to destroy.
🌹 True Strings, which are some comparatively smaller creatures belonging to The Swarm find their way onto the ship and start to cause hallucinations for multiple members. Argenti is included in this as the astral express crew finds him chatting away with one of them that he sees as a wubbabboo because he thinks those must be "delightful ball(s) of pure charm." To this hallucination he announces that if he cannot solve whatever is happening on the express then he will happily die for the glory of the knights. Naturally, the express crew sweeps in to interrupt this.
🌹 They all discover that they're inside of and being slowly digested by a giant sting due to rumbling stomach noises. While everyone gets solemn and hunkers down to create a last ditch effort plan Argenti pulls the MC aside to inform them of his plan.
🌹 As a Knight of Beauty he has a duty to fight this battle. His strategy is to exit the express and take on the giant sting alone. As he fights it the express should make their escape. Having convinced the MC to either accept or support his suicidal mission they then pick up on where their honorable battle left off before Welt interrupted it.
🌹 The mission doesn't progress until you defeat Argenti. Which means by canon events he loses that duel, bids the express a heartful farewell, and then goes to fight the giant sting alone.
🌹 After the plan succeeds the express talks about how even though he was pretty delulu Argenti was a pretty good guy. They wonder if he would've been able to survive.
🌹 At the very end he texts them all in a group chat with a "are you all safe and sound? I am sincerely worried." So he did indeed find a way to survive his strategy against the odds. He swears that the light of The Beauty protected him but, like, Idrila is dead or missing so who knows? Mystery. He certainly doesn't remember what happened after a certain point. Regardless he also meets up again with Velite to make sure he gets home so he really is the real deal when it comes to honor.

Personality:

Devoted- There are actually too many examples that I could show here. One of the best ones is the fact that Argenti considers all the close calls he has with death worthwhile because it gets him closer to even getting a glimpse of Idrila, the Aeon of Beauty.
"In the pursuit of defending beauty I have bled into unconsciousness... and in the ensuing stupor I have witnessed countless times their traces spreading from beneath my feet — reaching into the unknown before me."

That devotion is so strong that he forgoes things like settling down in a home or finding a place of belonging although it's very clear in his dialogue with the main character that he admires these things and wishes to protect them for others. He sees safeguarding all beauty in the universe as an obligation that he must never abandon no matter how much suffering it might inflict on himself.

"Until I see that light once more...I will protect all beauty in the universe. For Idrila."

Often times Argenti expresses that he must spread the glory of The Beauty in their absence, or at least until he can find them again. Quite literally taking the ideals of a faction that's loyal to that aeon onto himself and how he lives his life. This duty extends to his fourth character story where he takes it on himself to put down his old friend, who was also once a knight who spoke encouraging words to him. He must do so because that old friend has lost sight of honor, and has become an unthinking beast that has succumbed to evil temptations.

Noble- It's all a part of the package of being a Knight of Beauty. To this effect he is forthright and candid, he will show mercy when it's the honorable thing to do. Knights of Beauty travel the universe as solitary representatives of The Beauty so Argenti takes the duty of upholding and demonstrating these tenets very seriously. At the conclusion of the character mission "Night of Universal Hallucinations" he insists on taking on the giant sting alone so everyone else on the Astral Express can make their escape.

In an in-character Q&A Argenti states that since he is expected to travel alone across the cosmos it would be inherently unfair and unjust of him to have a lover; he would feel great pain if he knew there was someone out there waiting for his return—so to maintain that honor he does not partake in personal romance.

Sincere & Humble- At first it may be difficult to see the guy act the way he does and believe that it's genuinely all him, but truly he's just like this. That's what it means to develop the philosophy that you can see the beauty in most things--especially in times of adversity. The slice of humbleness is big enough that it verges on self-deprecation sometimes. Particularly if he's putting someone else above himself. Again we return to that in-character Q&A where he displays this quality to uplift the image of The Beauty and The Knights of Beauty.

Another example is showcased in Part 1 of his character story.

"I'm too clumsy to master this instrument..."
He murmured in self-deprecation. Yet, after a profound moment of contemplation, a resolute courage ignited within him. He resolved to try once more, to weave a melody.

Argenti uses those moments to fuel his devotion to his aeon (deity) and the path that THEY once walked. He's the kind of guy that if you were to smack him down he'd get back up even more motivated than before.

When you have Argenti in your character roster he also texts you sometimes. He specifically uses some of these interactions to sincerely praise and uplift the main character because "people love to hear compliments."

Abilities:

Manifesto of Purest Virtue - After using the Technique, enemies in a set area are inflicted with Daze for 10 second(s). What this looks like is him lifting his spear into the air and a blinding white light flares out to blind everyone in close proximity.

Apotheosis - Essentially every time he's hit he gets an Apotheosis stack that additionally increases CRIT DMG by 4%.

So Cometh Beauty's Knight - There's nothing too special about this at a glance. It's just an attack that lands on one target but it does aoe damage to multiple targets because it springs up into a bunch of roses and vines.

Spear & Shield -

These are respectfully 2-3 summons that float alongside boss Argenti (usually at or after his second phase). One applies a barrier buff, another increases damage, and the last gives damage boost stacks. Notable when the first entity is killed it applies the same effect to the enemy team. Once the second one is defeated it does friendly fire damage to Argenti. For knight reasons? Perhaps he's a masochist? Probably all of the above applies.

Ultimate - Merit Bestowed in "My" Garden: He has two versions of the same "big damage" attack. Predictably the half charged one does less damage. The fully charged one has several visual and audio cues including but not limited to: glowing golden armor and iridescently shining weapon, the ring of a church bell, and a certified explosion of damaging energy that follows up the first slash.

The technical in game explanation is this: Consumes 180 Energy and deals Physical DMG equal to 168%—302.4% of Argenti's ATK to all enemies, and further deals DMG for 6 extra time(s), with each time dealing Physical DMG equal to 57%—102.6% of Argenti's ATK to a random enemy.

Inventory:
- Ornate suit of amour
- Spear that's so beautiful it should be impractical and yet
- Dangerously parasocial relationship with his Aeon

🫴🌹✨𝔉𝔬𝔯 𝔶𝔬𝔲

idk this isn't a question or anything just character trivia there's no other place for. Since you're my captive audience rn you have to read it. At one point Argenti asks the MC what he should have with his bread for dinner. What kind of bread should he have? And you can suggest that he have bread with his bread and because he likes and sustains himself on bread so much he goes "Great. Please accept my gratitude."
